RULES 2012
1. All Competitors must be paid up members of a club which is affiliated to the Hertfordshire Golf Union. Competitors must have an ACTIVE Handicap of 3 - 10 (clubs are limited to fielding a maximum of 2 players of 3 h'cap).
2. Competitors belonging to more than one Club in Hertfordshire may only play for one Club (not necessarily their Home Club) during the season.
3. Matches to be played over 18 holes from the Competition Tees (No longer has to be stones/discs it is upto home capt.) and to be arranged by mutual agreement preferably a week day but weekends will be allowed, between the 1st April and 31st August.
4. Format to be 4 Ball Match Play off handicap S/A ¾ from the lowest player and Teams will consist of 10 players. No substitutes will be allowed during the playing of the match unless agreement with the opposing Team Captain.
5. All games to be played according to R & A Rules.
Local Rule: Range Finders / G.P.S. may be used.
6.The matches will be contested by five pairs, one single may play two, but if a team is two short they will forfeit that point.
7. The results shall be scored as follows: - 1 point for each game won - ½ point for each game halved - 2 points for the overall winner of the match - When the match is ½ 1 point for each team - Abandoned matches 2 ½ points each team
If at the end of the season two or more teams have the same number of League points then match points will be the decider. In the event that match points are the same then the sum of the game points of the matches between the two teams will be used as a tie break. It will then go to the result of the last game between the two teams.
8. All match results to be returned via email on the forms provided to the administrator by the Home Team Captain immediately following the match.
9. No Buggies are permitted(except for medical/injury situations, no other competitor may ride on the buggy).
10.The Home Club to provide courtesy of the course, the cost of the after match meal is to be split between the 2 clubs. This must be a warm meal to the value of approximately £10.
